My Process
Early 2020 for us, a pandemic changed life as we know it. Much of my process is different now.
Once upon a time I sat with you in studio, for hours at a time, drawing. We’d make a home base on the lobby desk or picnic table outside and dedicate hours, sometimes days to sorting out just what you want. It was a long process. For most clients it was a boring process. But it gave me a window into the realm of what *you* want. I try to take what I learned after years of drawing with you this way into consultations now. I ask specific, somewhat obscure questions. I allow every decision to be yours. I have never been comfortable as an artist to just do x, y, and z. Instead, I say “I think we should do x, y, and z” and gauge your responses.
For this reason I have a consultation with everybody. I do consultations now via zoom, from the safety of wherever we are. I get to see your face, share my tablet screen, and look with you at all of the ideas we have. I can take real time notes, point to things, show you stuff. Its as good as in person!
I will get a design together after we chat and reach out for a quick chat if I have more questions, a better idea, or went wild with it and need your okay. Sometimes our first talk will lead to many more before we get where we’re going. I will do my best to make sure the tattoo you get is what you and I will be most happy with.
Masks are now optional, however I encourage you to ask me to wear one if it makes you feel safer. Snacks can be eaten at your leisure now, and I encourage everyone to bring snacks, especially long sitters!
Tattoo Release Forms are digital now, so you can fill them out on your phone. I do not get to see these forms so please disclose any important medical info up front.
